About this speaker

Hi! I've recently started my PhD at the University of Sussex, under the supervision of Dr Gillian Sandstrom. My PhD project aims to understand the barriers that prevent people from being kind to others in everyday life, with a specific focus on what prevents people from being kind to strangers.

Through research and personal experience of interacting with strangers, I know how beneficial it can be to our wellbeing (and to the recipient's!), but it doesn't always feel easy. I hope that, through better understanding the barriers to being kind to strangers, I can help make this behaviour more commonplace and contribute to a kinder and more connected world.
